Learn together, study smarter

Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS) are weekly student-led revision sessions that aim to deepen your understanding of unit content and facilitate your learning.

PASS sessions are offered in units that students may find unfamiliar and challenging initially. The sessions are held in small groups that are responsive to students’ abilities and needs. They do not replace lectures or tutorials but are designed to reinforce understanding of unit content and improve study habits and strategies.

The sessions are structured in a collaborative learning environment - feeding off input and needs from other students attending. They provide you with a chance to seek clarity on content in a safe, supportive student-led environment, and enable you to confidently develop the skills to find the answers yourself.

Student benefits

By attending PASS sessions, you will:

  • improve your academic performance
  • build self-confidence by learning how to review and question unit material in a supportive peer-based environment
  • develop learning strategies and study techniques that can be applied to other subjects throughout your university experience
  • improve your communication and group interaction skills
  • Increases future employability outcomes for students
  • make friends, network, and become part of a supportive learning community.

Timetable, Session 1 2024

PASS runs from Week 2 until Week 13 (excluding mid-session break and public holidays).
